COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY AT RAYAN WOMEN'S COLLEGE
Counselling is the skilled and principled use of relationship to facilitate self- knowledge,emotional acceptance & growth and the optimal development of personal resources. The overall aim is to provide an opportunity to work towards living more satisfyingly and resourcefully. A vast majority of people are well prepared physically and psychologically to cope with many negative physical and psychological events that take place during their lifetime, these can be - Deaths within the family and friends and work associates; Injury; Divorce; Marriage; Stress; Unemployment; Change of jobs; War; Disaster; Birth; etc All these events whether natural orman-made all are resulting in disruption of normal life. DIPLOMA IN MONTESSORI TEACHER TRAINING
Montessori education is an educational approach developed by an Italian physician and educator.Dr. Maria Montessori. It is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative work. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the learning process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential. It nurtures each child’s individual strengths and interests. English medium schools are searching for appropriately trained nursery/KG/ Kindergarten teachers with good communication skills. Government and aided schools are also running pre-school classes supported by the PTA. SRC Community College is organizing a well-planned course with an internationally accepted curriculum which helps thousands of educated and unemployed women. The trained women can run their own child care centers/ Montessori schools. But the trained teachers are very less. As the PPTTC students are trained in Malayalam medium they are not preferred in English medium schools.

DIPLOMA IN COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY
This Diploma course will provide a deep conceptual understanding and necessary practical
knowledge to work as a professional in the field of learning disability. As this course is designed
as a credit system, those who pass the CMLD course can pursue the Diploma course in
Learning Disabilities conducted by the SRC by spending only 6 months. A 2 year Advanced
Diploma course in Specific Learning Disabilities is also under consideration for those who
wish to work in Gulf countries or to learn deeply about the latest developments in the field.
The diploma holders can pursue this by spending only one year more. This will include the 9
months’ practical teaching in any school.
